Stagnum Desertni is produced only in exceptional vintages, when nature allows the grapes to reach full ripeness and dry naturally on the vine. Rather than being dried on traditional stone walls or in attic lofts, as was once customary, the berries remain on the vine, exposed to the sun and the dry winds of the Pelješac Peninsula, where they gradually lose moisture and naturally concentrate their sugars and aromas.
The grapes are harvested late and vinified immediately, with fermentation beginning spontaneously on native yeasts. The wine then matures, preserving a natural balance between sweetness, acidity, alcohol, tannins, and freshness.
In the glass, it displays a dense, deep ruby colour with pronounced copper and brick hues at the rim. Layered aromas of dried and overripe dark fruit are complemented by subtle mineral and herbal nuances. Rich and remarkably persistent, yet beautifully harmonious, Stagnum Desertni is a concentrated and enduring expression of naturally dried grapes and the unique terroir of the Pelješac Peninsula.

A concentrated expression of vine-dried Plavac Mali, rich and layered, with a natural balance of sweetness and freshness, and a long, lingering finish.
Our wines reflect the place, the grape variety, and the time in which they are made. They develop slowly, through a natural approach and years of ageing.
A visit to the winery includes a guided tour of the cellar and an introduction to our approach to winemaking. This is followed by a tasting of our wines and olive oil in the very setting where they are created, overlooking the Pelješac landscape.
Our approach is rooted in respect for the vineyard and the natural course of winemaking. We believe that the character of each wine is shaped in the vine and the soil from which it comes.
