Production title

Grape and wine production in Ponikve, on the Peljesac peninsula has been a Milos family tradition for generations. We base our production on the autochthonous grape variety of Plavac mali. We have about 15 hectares of vineyards on the finest locations on Peljesac; on the slippery slopes of the Prapratno cove next to Ponikve village. Vineyards have been planted on sandy soil formed on the dolomite rocks. We are now planning to plant an additional 5 hectares of new plantations. Handcrafted vineyards and ecological production show the effort we put into every detail.

In Ponikve we have our own wine-cellar for fermentation, processing, bottling and the aging of wine. We are specialized in producing different types of high quality wine of the Plavac mali cultivar. The selection of wine depends on the position and the preparation of the vineyard, the particular year, the way and time of vintage and the technology in the cellar. This means that each type of wine requires a different winemaking procedure. We produce different types of wines: dry, semi-dry, half- sweet and natural sweet (dessert) wines.

The complete understanding of Plavac mali and its natural surrounding has enabled us to dive into unique wine production business. The quality of our wine has been drawing the attention of national and foreign wine critics for more than 20 years. Their reviews have positioned us at the very top of the winemaking scene. Some of our wines have shown success outside Croatia, on some of the most demanding wine markets in the US.

What all our wines have in common is a style which guarantees a strong expression of the nature of Peljesac (a reflection of the terroir) and Plavac mali cultivar, which in enogastronomy is of high value.
